STANLEY POLICE RAPID DEPLOYMENT

Stanley Police Department’s latest officer was sworn in at the Stanley Police Department.
Bradley Gaither was sworn in as an officer for the Stanley Police Department. The short ceremony took place in the Stanley Police Department conference room. He graduated Basic Law Enforcement Training at Gaston College. We welcome Bradley to the Stanley Police Department. Bradley is a great addition to the Stanley Police Department and looks forward to serving the citizens of Stanley.

On Thursday, November 20th, 2008, Timothy E. Van Dyke was sworn in as a part-time police officer for the Stanley Police Department. The short ceremony took place in the Stanley Police Department conference room. Tim's wife and other family members were in attendance and his grandmother held the bible during the ceremony. Robert Green of the Stanley Police Department, and also a co-worker at the Air Guard, read the law enforcement code of ethics. Officer Matt Curfman read the Police Officer's prayer, Lieutenant Tim Branch lead those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. Chief Heath Jenkins administered the "Oath of Office" followed by the presentation of Tim's badge and gun. Refreshments were served following the ceremony. Council Member Jim McGinnis was in attendance along with Bob Greback, Town Manager and Joe Wallace, Finance Director for the Town of Stanley. In addition to the officers already mentioned Detective Sergeant Jim Abernethy, Officer Jacob Springs, Officer Steve Smith and Officer Johnathan Martin were in attendance.
Tim Van Dyke works full-time with the NC Air National Guard in Charlotte. He graduated Basic Law Enforcement Training at Gaston College and the hiring of Tim was postponed due to a military deployment. We welcome Tim to the Stanley Police Department. Tim is a great addition to the Stanley Police Department and looks forward to serving the citizens of Stanley.

On July 17, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Stanley’s newest officer was sworn in during a short ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Stanley Police Department conference room. John Martin took the oath of office while his family, department members and local elected officials present. Mayor Pro-Tem Charles Withers, Council Member Bud Pate and Council Member Jim McGinnis were present. Council Member Bud Pate gave the invocation and led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Chief Jenkins conducted the swearing in and presented John with his gun and badge. Following the swearing in John signed his Oath of Office and was presented with a framed original. After the ceremony was complete everyone enjoyed refreshments and celebrated John’s swearing-in. We would like to welcome him to the department and the Town of Stanley.
