Thank you for visiting the Stanley Police Department website.  Like the other parts of our department, we are constantly working hard to make this website the best it can be.  The site you are viewing now has recently been updated and redesigned.  We are in the process of adding many more features that will allow the citizens of Stanley and others to access more information.  Some things to look for in the future include crime mapping, secure employee page, department store, access to certain policies and procedures, posting of Town of Stanley ordinances in PDF or WORD format.

ABOUT THE CHIEF OF POLICE

Chief Heath Jenkins was hired by the Stanley Police Department by the late Chief Ralph Handsel in 1986.  He worked his way up through the ranks and served in the following positions:  dispatcher, patrolman, detective, sergeant, captain, interim chief and chief. 

• Graduate of North Carolina Law Enforcement Executive Program, North Carolina State University. 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University
• Graduate of the North Carolina Criminal Investigators Academy
• Graduate of the North Carolina Criminal Investigator’s Certificate Program
• Recipient of North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate
• 2006 – Appointed to the North Carolina Actual Innocence Commission by the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Sara Parker.
